CD launch in Oxford

We’re looking forward to returning to one of our favourite venues, St. Michael at the North Gate, Cornmarket Street, Oxford, for a full evening concert on November 15th, at 8.00pm. We’ll have our CD with us, but do not imagine that what you hear in the concert will be a repeat of what’s on the CD! Expect our usual mix of improvised and planned, vocal and instrumental, meditative and playful music – all of it original and unique to us.Wood-and-Stone-Name-and-Tit

Oxford concert coming up! Keep November 15th free.

It’s been some time since we performed in Oxford, but at last our autumn concert is nearly upon us. It’s at St. Michael at the North Gate, on Saturday, November 15th. The programme, entitled Wood and Stone, includes some of the ideas we’ve been working on over the past year and pieces relating both to our tree-inspired work and site-specific to St. Michael’s, with a good helping of improvisation.

This will also be the Oxford launch of our CD, Making Sound Sense of Trees, so if you weren’t able to come to our London or Cambridge launches this is your chance. (Don’t worry : you’re just as welcome at the concert whether or not you buy a CD!)

See you there!

Fun in Cambridge

Fractofusus very much enjoyed the recent lunchtime gig at the Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin University. It is a lovely place to perform and we had a good audience, who seemed to be really engaging with us and liking our programme. We had quite a few positive comments afterwards and may well be back in Cambridge before too long!

This was another new audience for us. A handful of people knew Anne in another context, but the rest of us were unknown, as was our material, so it’s very gratifying for us to have further confirmation of Fractofusus’s wide appeal. We are definitely not just a ‘friends and family’ band.

Autumn 2014

This autumn we have two concerts booked already. On October 24th, we’ll be in Cambridge, at the Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin University, giving one of their popular regular Friday lunchtime concerts (1.10 to 1.55). Then, on Saturday, November 15th we’ll be at St. Michael at the Northgate in Oxford, with an evening concert running from 8pm.

It would be lovely to see lots of you at one or other of these gigs. On both occasions we’ll have our CD available, so if you missed the launch in London you have another chance to acquire one.

CD Launch Concert Success

We would like to thank everyone who came along to our CD launch concert last Saturday. We really enjoyed ourselves, and it was gratifying for us to be performing to such a warm and appreciative audience. We are so pleased that you made the effort to come out on a wet February afternoon and completely fill the recital room at Schotts – and you ┬áseem to be glad you came!

We hope you enjoy listening to your CDs, and look forward to seeing some of you at future gigs in your area.

CD launch features CW3 Little Sproutai
